Challenge: one picture per week during 6 months!
Week 14 – I was not sure about what to expect from the extreme north of Argentina and I was absolutely not disappointed!
Week 13 – Discovering Córdoba was not an easy one!
Week 12 – From now until mid-December, it is the season of the Southern Right Whales (ballenas franca austral) who come close to the coast to breed. It was amazing!
Week 11 – Now I can really say that “J’ai conduit dans la Pampa”!
Week 10 – Brasseries, boulangeries, pâtisseries, kiosques à journaux, architecture à la française, petits déjeuners café-croissant (medialuna), Buenos Aires a un délicieux parfum parisien !
Week 9 – Valparaiso… the colorful perched houses on the many hills facing the dark blue Pacific Ocean are as beautiful as the Street Art blooming everywhere in the city!
Week 8 – The 18th and 19th of September are the celebration of Chile Independence. This was the independence from the Spanish in 1810. Everything in the city is closed! No museums, no shops, no malls, most of the restaurants are closed for 2 days and all the Santiguan are gone or are celebrating in traditional fondas! Even a 15th of August in Paris looks busier!
Week 7 – Before coming here, in my mind Peru was just Machu Picchu, and maybe also the strange marks of Nazca. But I didn’t know much about the country. Now, Peru means so many things to me!
Week 6 – In Peru we loved the mountains, the cities, the gastronomy, the ruins and… the craft! Please enjoy this very small example of their traditional weaving. This one comes from the village of Chinchero which is a “must-stop” for all tours in the Sacred Valley near Cusco.
Week 5 – We have now been in Cusco for 10 days, discovering the city and improving our Spanish at the San Blas Spanish School! We have the feeling to be in a “waiting” phase as we are here to acclimate to the altitude in anticipation of The Inca Trail which will start next Monday!
Week 4 – The selection of this week was not easy. We visited Arequipa, a wonderful UNESCO World Heritage city, and discovered the Cañon de Colca, crossing an impressive high plateau reaching an altitude of 4910m and surrounded by 8 volcanoes.
Week 3 – Despite its foggy winter, Lima turned out to be a wonderful relaxing stop on our way to the South.
Week 2 – Today was the first Peruvian road trip.
Week 1 – After 4 days in the busy and noisy Huaraz, we decided to escape the city and take refuge in the mountains.
Week 0 – Let’s start with an overview of ZeTrip!
