Mirador Loma del Pliegue Tumbado, Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, Patagonia, Argentina
From the mirador, we can see the Fitz Roy on the right and the Cerro Torre on the left with the Laguna Torre at the bottom.

This hike is the most famous in El Chalten if you want to see the Fitz Roy summit from a very nice view point: its foot!
In December, at the end of the W circuit, we had done a part of this hike, but we stopped at Refugio Chileno…
In the same way that day 3 ended, day 4 started in incredibly calm and sunny Patagonia… Had we been transported to another country or another dimension?!
This day began with a very beautiful 7 km walk to the Italiano campsite where we had planned to stop because it is the starting point of a detour to the Valle del Francès.
This was our first actual walking day. We will have 4. The goal was to hike the 11 km to join the second shelter we had booked: the Refugio Paine Grande.
The Torres del Paine was the HIGHLIGHT of our visit of the Chilean Patagonia! We were looking forward to it and we were absolutely not disappointed.
Back on the trails! This weekend we decided to hike a nice path going to the Refugio de la Laguna Negra at 1650m where we spent a night, our heads in the mountains!
This trek was fantastic! 4 days of hiking + 1 day for the Machu Picchu guided tour. It was really a human, physical and cultural adventure! Booked nearly 1 year ago with the WAYKI TREK agency, it was the final highlight of our visit in Peru.
Week 7 – Before coming here, in my mind Peru was just Machu Picchu, and maybe also the strange marks of Nazca. But I didn’t know much about the country. Now, Peru means so many things to me!
We had the PERFECT plan!
In order to prepare longer treks at high altitude, it was good to start with a short one near the dynamic city of Huaraz.
Fabulous souvenir of the Roys Peak hike.
