Week 25 – This week we met the 2 big guys of the Argentinian South Patagonia: el señor Glaciar Perito Moreno and el señor Fitz Roy. They are both part of the Parque Nacional los Glaciares and are the main attractions of this part of Argentina.
After the Parque Nacional Torres del Paine we thought we would not be enthralled anymore, but these 2 sites are quite beautiful. To enjoy them as much as we could we joined a trek on the Perito Moreno glacier and we hiked near the Fitz Roy. You will find more details very soon in the “incredible hikes”!
A big change occurred this last week… we are now in high season… No more camping for ourselves, no more private tour and price reduction… we are in the crowd, lost in the mass tourism! We can still meet some overlander from all over the world, but there is now a lot of Chilean and Argentinian tourists everywhere! Camping are full and you can’t spend a night without being drowned in the fumes of the many barbecues lighted up until 1am or 2am. I’m afraid we will have to get used to it as the high season will last until end of February or even mid March.
The positive part of it is that we have more and more opportunities to discuss with people and they give us a lot of good advices on their countries and what to visit. My level of Spanish prevent me from having very deep discussion on their way of living and politics but it’s nice to try and understand a little bit of it!
