This hike is the most famous in El Chalten if you want to see the Fitz Roy summit from a very nice view point: its foot! As it is the most popular it is also the most crowded, but it is still very nice and the weather was with us.
We started hiking in the valley of the Río Blanco river in a nice lengua forest and reached the Mirador Piedras Blancas from where we could see the lake of the same name and the east side of the Fitz Roy.
Continuing, we reached the campsite Poincenot before crossing the river and starting the steep ascent to the Lago de los Tres. The arrival at the lake was really beautiful as you really are at the foot of the mountain and the weather was really clear!
We stayed up there for a while before leaving it and walking back down for a deserved rest!
