Peru in a nutshell

Week 7 – After 6 weeks in Peru, we are now flying to Chile in order to continue ZeTrip.

Before coming here, in my mind Peru was just Machu Picchu, and maybe also the strange marks of Nazca. But I didn’t know much about the country. Now, Peru means so many things to me!

Peru definitely means “absolutely stunning mountains landscapes” and incredible challenging hikes. Huaraz and the Cordillera Blanca have marked my minds and will stay a wonderful souvenir forever. Maybe in a near future we will go back there and spend a whole month or more to acclimate properly and hike the most beautiful treks and walks of the region.

The Peruvian gastronomy was a pleasant surprise, we never became fed up with discovering new specialities or savouring again and again a Lomo Saltado, a ceviche, a Chupe de Camarones, a Pollo a la Parilla, a Trucha… our papillae have been spoiled for 6 full weeks!

The history of Peru, especially Inca’s period and the arrival of the Spanish is rich, yet so full of mysteries. We will definitely follow on the new Inca site found last year, and I’m sure many more will be discovered, for the jungle still holds a few secrets.

Peru is for sure a “coup de coeur”!

  1. I am so happy to read how much you loved Peru. I could not agree more with what you say. I wish to go back there one day coz there are definitely more to see and do that what one trip allow you to do. Maybe we’ll go there together next time? 🙂
