Week 2 – Today was the first Peruvian road trip.
We drove from Huaraz (3100m) to Lima (0m), a 7 hours journey starting with an ascent to Conococha’s plateau at 4000m, followed by an impressive descent in the depth of the mountains (we lost 3000m altitude in 1 hour) to finally on the foggy and sandy coast.
It was really nice to cross the colorful Peruvian villages nested in the sunny mountains which contrasted drastically with the coastal towns, grim and lost in sand and foggy Peruvian winter.
